One Sweet Wedding: Ceremony and Reception

Last post I left you wondering if I made it to the church on time. Now, everyone that knows me knows that I sometimes get caught up and end up running late (ADD much?) And to top it off, my future husband had made a bet with his groomsmen that his future wife was going to arrive late to the church. Well guesss what?!
I made it early! Doesn't my hubby look cute waiting for me to come down the aisle with my parents? I love love LOVE this picture. So many emotions, so many feelings come rushing back to me whenever I see it. DO you have a picture from your wedding day that makes you feel like that?

Here's a pic of that long train. We are getting a blessing for our wedding from Fr. Doug (quite a unique priest whom we really enjoyed being mentored by).

After the ceremony, we headed out for some pictures around town and then to the reception. Here's some of my favorite pics from the reception

I love cake! I couldn't pick just one flavor so we had an assortment. The center cake was made by that fabulous friend (my cousin's fiance). She whipped it up and it was her first cake she ever made before launching her business. It's based out of Columbus, Ohio so if you would like the name of the bakery, leave a message. She is amazing and sweet! I don't know what I would have done without her.

My bouquet and our rings. We used etsy.com to purchase our wedding bands from some awesome sellers. I used the alchemy option to have a jeweler bid on fabricating my band. (Seller Quilted Pony) He rocked and was a pleasure to work with. I would recommend him to anyone and would definetly use him again. We used Titanium Knights sellers for my husbands band and the quality and the price was perfect.

The perfect ending to the perfect day.... Happily married for almost 2 years now and looking back it feels like yesterday. I'm so blessed to have the friends and family I do to help us have the best time. I don't think I could have had a better time, although there would have been some things I wish I could have "tweeked". That could be a post for a different day :-)

Wedding Tidbits!

Here are some of my favorite moments leading up to our wedding, and the actual wedding itself. I had some of the most amazing and supportive people around me (specifically my cousins fiance-love her!) friends and family. People who flew as far as Alaska, New York, and Seattle just to name a few. It was really a dream come true and it went off with glitches! Of course, I just smiled-someone was always constantly in my face watching me and taking my picture...know the feeling? I was so happy, felt so loved, and couldn't wait to party!

I loved my hair. My hubby's cousin did it for not only myself but the whole bridal party! What an amazing wedding gift andddd to top it off she came to the location where I was getting ready to take a load of stress off the "morning rush" of events that usually preceed the ceremony.
*Sigh* My dresssss! Loved this! I stumbled upon it at Filene's Basement "Running fo the Brides" in Columbus in the beginning of 2009. It was a Mon Cheri dress (the Janet if you want close ups, google image!) that retailed for more then my budget would allow normally. But if youa re familiar with the RoBs then you know it became totally affordable at under $300 with tax.

My shoes, which were pretty, but killeddd, so you wont see them on my feet for very long. They are from David's Bridal and the only piece of my wedding outfit that I paid full price for. Kinda sad that they sucked so bad. You'll also notice the earrings I wore which are hanging ont he shoes. Those were my something old and something borrowed. When my grandma (whom I loved dearly) passed away in 2005 my aunts had her pearl necklace broken down and had earrings made for all the females in the family including their birthstone as the bottom crystal. My birthstone happens to be diamonds (whaaa? no diamonds?? boo) so swarovski crystals anchored the set. These were very important to me on my day and I waited to wear them for the first time until my wedding day. I wanted my grandma to be there so bad...and even though she was watching, I felt her presence the whole day.

Ready to meet my muscle man at the altar! But would I make it on time or late as predicted?

We have a lot of catching up to do!

When I originally started this blog I wanted to focus on telling the story of our wedding plans and how the day went and all the memories we made. However, I "got busy livin' and forgot to document it-Ill try and recoup as much as I can now through pictures. I can say this, it was one of the best dang weddings of all time!

I also want to refocus what I am blogging about: being a military spouse. I never thought I would be in this role, however I am adjusting to it...as you will read!

Welcome back old readers, I promise to start recapping the wedding first for your enjoyment (and for my mind's sake) and you are encouraged to stay around.

Welcome in new readers! If you are also a military spouse, girl friend, fiance, etc I encourage you to share your stories with me. It can get lonely out here and the more support, the better.

This is going to be a wild ride, hang tight and read on!
