Now, everyone that knows me knows that I sometimes get caught up and end up running late (ADD much?) And to top it off, my future husband had made a bet with his groomsmen that his future wife was going to arrive late to the church. Well guesss what?!

<img border="0" height="213" m$="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aHOjx5ZxlQA/Thd3vjV7CoI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/mgtmaR9j-dQ/s320/IMG_5186.jpg" width="320" />
I made it early! Doesn't my hubby look cute waiting for me to come down the aisle with my parents? <sigh>I love love LOVE this picture. So many emotions, so many feelings come rushing back to me whenever I see it. DO you have a picture from your wedding day that makes you feel like that?

<img border="0" height="320" m$="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-X6x3cOnyhUU/Thd4nOdYkHI/AAAAAAAAAIU/Etq-pByyaMo/s320/IMG_5312.jpg" width="213" />
Here's a pic of that long train. We are getting a blessing for our wedding from Fr. Doug (quite a unique priest whom we really enjoyed being mentored by).

After the ceremony, we headed out for some pictures around town and then to the reception. Here's some of my favorite pics from the reception

<img border="0" height="213" m$="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HUUF06a0j3s/Thd5OltxwXI/AAAAAAAAAIY/3fzBvZFRbHU/s320/IMG_5948.jpg" width="320" />
I love cake! I couldn't pick just one flavor so we had an assortment. The center cake was made by that fabulous friend (my cousin's fiance). She whipped it up and it was her first cake she ever made before launching her business. It's based out of Columbus, Ohio so if you would like the name of the bakery, leave a message. She is amazing and sweet! I don't know what I would have done without her.

<img border="0" height="213" m$="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tBSseLLG-40/Thd5Yf1KyoI/AAAAAAAAAIc/-JkS8tjVmik/s320/IMG_6394.jpg" width="320" />

My bouquet and our rings. We used etsy.com to purchase our wedding bands from some awesome sellers. I used the alchemy option to have a jeweler bid on fabricating my band. (Seller Quilted Pony) He rocked and was a pleasure to work with. I would recommend him to anyone and would definetly use him again. We used Titanium Knights sellers for my husbands band and the quality and the price was perfect.

<img border="0" height="320" m$="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6uJp1XeeTsk/Thd69vj2u-I/AAAAAAAAAIg/6r0TnlJB7vw/s320/IMG_6032.jpg" width="213" />
The perfect ending to the perfect day.... Happily married for almost 2 years now and looking back it feels like yesterday. I'm so blessed to have the friends and family I do to help us have the best time. I don't think I could have had a better time,although there would have been some things I wish I could have "tweeked". That could be a post for a different day :-)
I had some of the most amazing and supportive people around me (specifically my cousins fiance-love her!) friends and family. People who flew as far as Alaska, New York, and Seattle just to name a few. It was really a dream come true and it went off with glitches! Of course, I just smiled-someone was always constantly in my face watching me and taking my picture...know the feeling? I was so happy, felt so loved, and couldn't wait to party!

<img border="0" height="320" m$="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-okr7RLeHGEg/ThS6aNxOSnI/AAAAAAAAAHo/Rc_Yyxexkgo/s320/IMG_4968.jpg" width="213" />
I loved my hair. My hubby's cousin did it for not only myself but the whole bridal party! What an amazing wedding gift andddd to top it off she came to the location where I was getting ready to take a load of stress off the "morning rush" of events that usually preceed the ceremony.
<img border="0" height="320" m$="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cK1f8UA4bs4/ThUlcfmfNTI/AAAAAAAAAH0/IQDF_j-TYOw/s320/IMG_5000.jpg" width="213" />
*Sigh* My dresssss! Loved this! I stumbled upon it at Filene's Basement "Running fo the Brides" in Columbus in the beginning of 2009. It was a Mon Cheri dress (the Janet if you want close ups, google image!) that retailed for more then my budget would allow normally. But if youa re familiar with the RoBs then you know it became totally affordable at under $300 with tax.

<img border="0" height="213" m$="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-04MFOxAkZEc/ThUmNVAMRcI/AAAAAAAAAH4/NElCtKoynmw/s320/IMG_4983.jpg" width="320" />
My shoes, which were pretty, but killeddd, so you wont see them on my feet for very long. They are from David's Bridal and the only piece of my wedding outfit that I paid full price for. Kinda sad that they sucked so bad. You'll also notice the earrings I wore which are hanging ont he shoes. Those were my something old and something borrowed. When my grandma (whom I loved dearly) passed away in 2005 my aunts had her pearl necklace broken down and had earrings made for all the females in the family including their birthstone as the bottom crystal. My birthstone happens to be diamonds (whaaa? no diamonds?? boo) so swarovski crystals anchored the set. These were very important to me on my day and I waited to wear them for the first time until my wedding day. I wanted my grandma to be there so bad...and even though she was watching, I felt her presence the whole day.

When I originally started this blog I wanted to focus on telling the story of our wedding plans and how the day went and all the memories we made. However, I "got busy livin' and forgot to document it-Ill try and recoup as much as I can now through pictures. I can say this, it was one of the best dang weddings of all time!

I also want to refocus what I am blogging about: being a military spouse. I never thought I would be in this role, however I am adjusting to it...as you will read!

Welcome back old readers, I promise to start recapping the wedding first for your enjoyment (and for my mind's sake) and you are encouraged to stay around.

Welcome in new readers! If you are also a military spouse, girl friend, fiance, etc I encourage you to share your stories with me. It can get lonely out here and the more support, the better.

This is going to be a wild ride, hang tight and read on!Sweet Toothhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17539156133864043407noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917785740136616792.post-17190178779308671812009-09-04T19:48:00.000-07:002009-09-04T19:48:14.848-07:00Heads up!Head on over to http://theroddybride.blogspot.com/ to enter her contest for a Wall Sticker Giveaway!

Currently my future father -in-law is deployed overseas with the Army and you already know my FI had been deployed last year. That being said, since both men are integral parts of the wedding party, we had to pick a date that allowed both to be present. FFIL is not due back til Oct. so Summer 2009 was out. We also had to deal with upcoming holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas) and a lot of our guests coming from out of town. Not wanting to run into snow storms and other unforseens, we were hoping for a late fall wedding.

Now I guess I should tell you one of contributing factor that was important in selecting a wedding date...football season! FI and I are huge Buckeye fans and did not want to get married on a Buckeye game (our friends would prob kill us too!)

We ended up selecting November 14th as the date we would get married. While it was on an OSU game, it fit in the time frame of before the holidays.

Fast forward to selecting the hall and they gave us some bad news. They were booked on November 14th! Ughhhhh. I looked at FI and gave him a worrisome glance. With a quick prayer I asked, "What Saturdays do you have available between October and December?" "We have October 31st and December 26th" she replied.

A Halloween wedding?
Coming up...the date we picked!

Did you run into any problems that were unique to your situation in picking a wedding date? What were they? How did you end up picking your date?Sweet Toothhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17539156133864043407noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917785740136616792.post-47637309919664125102009-09-04T18:48:00.000-07:002009-09-04T18:48:09.898-07:00Getting Engaged! 9.8.2008.
We had been together for about four years, graduated college, and FI had just gotten back from overseas with the military in August 2008. We had moved into a townhouse and I started a my first career job in September. It was a whirlwhind of excitement to say the least! On my second day of work, I was driving home and recieved a call from my main squeeze telling me to, "Park in the front because the back lot was full.". That's weird, I thought but wasn't too suspicious. He then told me that he wanted us to go to my least favorite store in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD (which will remain nameless...) and that put me in a slighly foul mood -since I clearly do not like going there and all I wanted in the world was a nice hot bath. I parked in the front and in a little huff got out , only to find my FI on our porch with a bouquet of red roses and a smirk that spelled "Gotcha!" My mood melted and my face warmed as he told me he was proud of me for getting a job and that he was really glad to be home with me.(Awwwwwww :-) We kissed and I went to head inside to put the flowers in a vase. FI turns as I walk past him and says, "Hey will you do something for me?" I said "Sure, what?" and he said "Will you marry me?" And before he has time to get on his knee I am yelling "WHAT?!"

And jumped up and down laughing and crying!! I was thrilled, shocked, duped, astonished and exhausted! I even asked him, "Are you sure?"
We had never gone ring shopping or even really talked about it. He knew my ring size and that was about it so it definitely was a surprise.

How did your FI propose? Were you surprised?Sweet Toothhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17539156133864043407noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917785740136616792.post-79128614530709037462009-08-30T09:07:00.000-07:002009-08-30T09:15:55.858-07:00Hairspiration Pics

Forgive me I have been saving these for a long time and don't have the links for where I found them. That's great... tell me more!"

But what if the way two people met was more unconventional, maybe even slightly taboo and that question did just the opposite...
"Hey how did you and 'so and so' meet?"
"Ummmmmmmmmmm.... " (long awkward pause and sweating)

When me and GB met it was still slightly taboo to meet a significant other online. We weren't signed up for a dating website or anything like that (which now a days is a common thing and accepted way of meeting) and it was completely random how it went.

I signed up for a then relatively unknown social network called thefacebook dot com over 5 years ago. Circa 2004.

Flash forward to Jan 2005 and I receive the weirdest message from a guy with the kookiest profile picture in the history of all friend requests:

"Hey I saw your favorite book is DaVinci Code. I was wondering is that any good?"

Random...

...and being that I cant resist a stranger's conversation, I wrote back with, "Yeah it's a good book! (or else it wouldn't be listed under my favorites..lol) And to further provoke the randomness I asked him what his favorite book was. And we were hooked!

Something was there that I couldn't explain. I had butterflies from new message alerts... it was absurd! I didn't even "know" this person. But I couldn't stop being curious. I couldn't help laughing at his jokes and I found myself more and more thinking "what ifs".

What if we met in person?
What if he didn't dig my curvaceous bodacious bod?
What if he had never messaged me?

I shot him down TWICE when he asked to meet. I was totally witty via messaging and emails but what if my voice was totally annoying? And to boot there was only a head shot on my profile -he had no idea what I really looked like and that made me so insecure. I know, I know!

I finally gave in to my own curiosity and with a little nudging from my roommate I agreed to meet him. He picked Friday and told me to pick the place and time. I knew the coffee shop I picked closed at 8pm on weekdays and so I told him 6pm knowing that if it was weird, I had an out.

Of course I was late meeting him (foreshadowing of my inability to be on time...) and we were the only two people in the place so it was easy to figure out who he was. OMG he was hawtttt in person! And to my advantage a nervous mess over meeting me! We talked and laughed like old friends until the workers kicked us out of the coffee shop. Not willing to end the night so prematurely we walked a couple blocks to BW3s for beer and food(but mostly beer).

The rest, they say, is history!

And if you're curious, our first kiss was on the second date ;)Sweet Toothhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17539156133864043407noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917785740136616792.post-10606587683729215262009-08-28T20:45:00.000-07:002009-08-28T21:08:18.131-07:00**Happy Birthday Baby**In the midst of wedding planning, my main squeeze is having a birthday! Just thought I would share with you what I wrote in his bee-day card...and then I will probably be explaining it! But kudos to those of you who know what I'm talkin' bout:

"Finally! We are the same age again. What a relief. Hip Hip Pooh-ray!* I want to remind you that this is your last birthday as a single guy. The next birthday you have you will be getting "Happy Birthday Hubby" cards with lame domestic comments like "Youre the grillmaster of my heart!" "No one cuts the lawn like you do honey!" and "You make my heart flutter when I see you making the bed". Rest assured you will prob never get a card that reads, "Your laundry skills have me all hot and bothered" (well thats not entirely true, but its a different hot and bothered...). A consolation prize indeed. Now I know what you are thinking. Holy hell! What am I in for this next year?" I can't tell you because I haven't a clue but I'm hoping for "epic".

While I'm no noob when it comes to gaming, I'll never be a Level 70 death knight ** with bad ass armor and a flaming skull cap with razor sharp weapons or even a fuzzy tailed creature pet from another dimension that skips and throws 15 damage. I would prob pull a Leeroy Jenkins*** if given the opportunity to engulf my fellow raiders in a burning flash of instantaneous death just so I could head to bed after a long day. I'm not what you would call a good teammate in virtual reality. However, I can't help but aspire to be a Level 100 supporter,lover, friend, fan, confidant, and in a short time wife (!) of one of the greatest teammates I have ever had. So honey enjoy your birthday, I love you more and more every day and can't wait to see how epic this next year will be for you and I.

Happy 26th GB!

xoxo

** this is clearly a World of Warcraft reference. I wont post specifics since I claim no further knowledge of the game even though secretly I might know more then I let on...

I am starting this blog so I can share tips with other brides and to chronicle my once in a lifetime commitment to the man I love so darn much. :-) I have a lot to share and hope I'm not the only one enjoying it.
Sweet Toothhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17539156133864043407noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1917785740136616792.post-3991171248377321232009-08-27T20:12:00.000-07:002009-08-29T16:26:48.406-07:0010 weeks to go!Holy Molars I can not BELIEVE how fast planning a wedding goes! It feels like just yesterday I was a newly engaged, naive to how much work it actually takes to make it "ours".

I still have a list of things to complete which includes an embarassing lot of stuff:

*Find out about transportation- like how are we going to get the the church, the photos, the reception...and we have a huge wedding party! No way am I organizing a "follow us we'll see you there " but never make it kinda thing. I would love a limo bus...mine as well price those out when I figure out what company I am going to use.

*confirm hotel reservations and room blocking for our OOT (out of town) guests. My cousin has helped locate a few good places, I just need to follow up with her on arrangements and such. She's such a sweetie :-)

*design invitation layout- I am working with an artist on sketching up some surprises for the invite and am revising the wording -Since we are getting married on a certain "spooky" holiday I have been playing with fonts and toying with the idea of being "punny". Any advice?

* flowers/bouquets/boutonierres- What the heck am I doing with this on the list? I decided long ago that I would make the bouquets/pomanders for the bridesmaids. I dreamed of dark red roses and pearl handles instead of the traditional ribbon. I was lucky and found some on sale at Garden Ridge and planned to make the rest on my own. After staring at them in my spare bedroom for months now, I decided I can't look at them forever in my album and they are out! I may use them as pew decorations in the church, but we will see. As far as this goes, I am def exploring the Costco circuit to see what flower arrangements they have. I definitely want fresh flowers for my bouquet and I want my ladies rockin some fab flowers too!

Stock the Bar, get groomsmen fitted...the list goes on....

What should my priorities be? What should be at the top of the list with 10 weeks remaining? Help!Sweet Toothhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17539156133864043407noreply@blogger.com0
