Hairspiration Pics

Forgive me I have been saving these for a long time and don't have the links for where I found them. I really would love half up, half down. Do you have any links I can check out for more hair styles-let me know! How are you doing your hair/how did you do your hair for the big day?

If I had an extra 250 bucks....

Its called a Gocco machine for those of you who aren't familiar. Essentially it prints like a press for t-shirts (silk screening) and allows you to personalize your paper.
See what it can do!
It.is.amazing!
I'm totally in awe of people's invitations when they are done with this machine. I would love to own one. Anyone know where I can fimd one for inexpensive?

"How did you two meet?"

The first question most people ask when they find out you are dating someone new is usually along the lines of, " How did you two meet?" A seemingly easy question for most people to answer and it usually provokes further conversation about new said interest thus allowing the newly dating person time to gush and spill the beans about their new "so and so"
"Hey how did you and 'so and so' meet?"
" Oh, we met through a friend/at the bar/ at work/in high school".
" AWWWWWWW! That's great... tell me more!"

But what if the way two people met was more unconventional, maybe even slightly taboo and that question did just the opposite...
"Hey how did you and 'so and so' meet?"
"Ummmmmmmmmmm.... " (long awkward pause and sweating)

When me and GB met it was still slightly taboo to meet a significant other online. We weren't signed up for a dating website or anything like that (which now a days is a common thing and accepted way of meeting) and it was completely random how it went.

I signed up for a then relatively unknown social network called thefacebook dot com over 5 years ago. Circa 2004.

Flash forward to Jan 2005 and I receive the weirdest message from a guy with the kookiest profile picture in the history of all friend requests:

"Hey I saw your favorite book is DaVinci Code. I was wondering is that any good?"

Random...

...and being that I cant resist a stranger's conversation, I wrote back with, "Yeah it's a good book! (or else it wouldn't be listed under my favorites..lol) And to further provoke the randomness I asked him what his favorite book was. And we were hooked!

Something was there that I couldn't explain. I had butterflies from new message alerts... it was absurd! I didn't even "know" this person. But I couldn't stop being curious. I couldn't help laughing at his jokes and I found myself more and more thinking "what ifs".

What if we met in person?
What if he didn't dig my curvaceous bodacious bod?
What if he had never messaged me?

I shot him down TWICE when he asked to meet. I was totally witty via messaging and emails but what if my voice was totally annoying? And to boot there was only a head shot on my profile -he had no idea what I really looked like and that made me so insecure. I know, I know!

I finally gave in to my own curiosity and with a little nudging from my roommate I agreed to meet him. He picked Friday and told me to pick the place and time. I knew the coffee shop I picked closed at 8pm on weekdays and so I told him 6pm knowing that if it was weird, I had an out.

Of course I was late meeting him (foreshadowing of my inability to be on time...) and we were the only two people in the place so it was easy to figure out who he was. OMG he was hawtttt in person! And to my advantage a nervous mess over meeting me! We talked and laughed like old friends until the workers kicked us out of the coffee shop. Not willing to end the night so prematurely we walked a couple blocks to BW3s for beer and food(but mostly beer).

The rest, they say, is history!

And if you're curious, our first kiss was on the second date ;)

**Happy Birthday Baby**

In the midst of wedding planning, my main squeeze is having a birthday! Just thought I would share with you what I wrote in his bee-day card...and then I will probably be explaining it! But kudos to those of you who know what I'm talkin' bout:

"Finally! We are the same age again. What a relief. Hip Hip Pooh-ray!* I want to remind you that this is your last birthday as a single guy. The next birthday you have you will be getting "Happy Birthday Hubby" cards with lame domestic comments like "Youre the grillmaster of my heart!" "No one cuts the lawn like you do honey!" and "You make my heart flutter when I see you making the bed". Rest assured you will prob never get a card that reads, "Your laundry skills have me all hot and bothered" (well thats not entirely true, but its a different hot and bothered...). A consolation prize indeed. Now I know what you are thinking. Holy hell! What am I in for this next year?" I can't tell you because I haven't a clue but I'm hoping for "epic".

While I'm no noob when it comes to gaming, I'll never be a Level 70 death knight ** with bad ass armor and a flaming skull cap with razor sharp weapons or even a fuzzy tailed creature pet from another dimension that skips and throws 15 damage. I would prob pull a Leeroy Jenkins*** if given the opportunity to engulf my fellow raiders in a burning flash of instantaneous death just so I could head to bed after a long day. I'm not what you would call a good teammate in virtual reality. H
owever, I can't help but aspire to be a Level 100 supporter, lover, friend, fan, confidant, and in a short time wife (!) of one of the greatest teammates I have ever had. So honey enjoy your birthday, I love you more and more every day and can't wait to see how epic this next year will be for you and I.

Happy 26th GB!

xoxo

Wedding post coming up!

And so it began...

Counting down the days to we say "I Do" is quickly shrinking! I am starting this blog so I can share tips with other brides and to chronicle my once in a lifetime commitment to the man I love so darn much. :-) I have a lot to share and hope I'm not the only one enjoying it.

10 weeks to go!

Holy Molars I can not BELIEVE how fast planning a wedding goes! It feels like just yesterday I was a newly engaged, naive to how much work it actually takes to make it "ours".

I still have a list of things to complete which includes an embarassing lot of stuff:

*Find out about transportation- like how are we going to get the the church, the photos, the reception...and we have a huge wedding party! No way am I organizing a "follow us we'll see you there " but never make it kinda thing. I would love a limo bus...mine as well price those out when I figure out what company I am going to use.

*confirm hotel reservations and room blocking for our OOT (out of town) guests. My cousin has helped locate a few good places, I just need to follow up with her on arrangements and such. She's such a sweetie :-)

*design invitation layout- I am working with an artist on sketching up some surprises for the invite and am revising the wording -Since we are getting married on a certain "spooky" holiday I have been playing with fonts and toying with the idea of being "punny". Any advice?

* flowers/bouquets/boutonierres- What the heck am I doing with this on the list? I decided long ago that I would make the bouquets/pomanders for the bridesmaids. I dreamed of dark red roses and pearl handles instead of the traditional ribbon. I was lucky and found some on sale at Garden Ridge and planned to make the rest on my own. After staring at them in my spare bedroom for months now, I decided I can't look at them forever in my album and they are out! I may use them as pew decorations in the church, but we will see. As far as this goes, I am def exploring the Costco circuit to see what flower arrangements they have. I definitely want fresh flowers for my bouquet and I want my ladies rockin some fab flowers too!

Stock the Bar, get groomsmen fitted...the list goes on....

What should my priorities be? What should be at the top of the list with 10 weeks remaining? Help!
